Democratic State Senator, Nan Orrock and State Representative Virgil Fludd were joined by labor leaders as they announced their renewed efforts to “Bring Jobs Home”. Orrock says nothing is more American than creating jobs.
“We believe Georgians and all Americans deserve better than to have our tax dollars supporting jobs overseas while in our own state of Georgia, unemployment hovers at 9-10 % and in some areas of state, far worse.”
The two co-chairs of the Working Family Caucus say they will support measures that prohibit taxpayer dollars from going to companies that ship work off shore, and ensure that state tax dollars are used to buy goods and services made in America.
Both legislators introduced bills last session but were unable to get them moved through the general assembly. They plan to try again, in January.
